How it began..

Frontier Knives began in Canterbury nearly 18 years ago — a small idea that grew from leftover steel and a big dose of curiosity. After selling a chaff‑cutting business, Damon found himself with leftover blades and a spark of inspiration. What started as a practical experiment soon became a lifelong craft.

Over the years, Damon has honed his skill to perfection, shaping each knife by hand with care and precision. Together, Damon and Kirsten have built Frontier Knives into a name known for quality, heritage, and heart — creating beautiful heirlooms with a practical purpose. We believe tools should be made with intention — built to be used, built to be passed down

If we manage to find some spare time, you will find us beachcombing for wood or fishing and we love to sleep under the stars!

Frontier Knives blends the wild spirit of Aotearoa with refined craftsmanship — every blade a story, every handle a piece of the frontier.
